  • What is Brief Psychotherapy?
    It is a structured, time-limited form of therapy focusing on identifying symptoms, building coping strategies, and working toward measurable goals in a limited number of sessions.
  • Do you offer psychiatric medication management?
    Yes. Our Medication Management service ensures that clients receive the right medication and dosage, tailored to their specific mental health and recovery needs.
  • What does a Case Manager do?
    Case Managers help coordinate care, connect clients to community resources, and support transitions across treatment levels. They serve as advocates and guides throughout the recovery process.
  • Is my information kept private?
    Absolutely. We follow all HIPAA guidelines and prioritize client confidentiality in every aspect of care.
  • What happens after residential treatment?
    Clients often step down into IOP, PHP, or outpatient services for continued support. We coordinate care transitions to maintain recovery momentum.
  • Can I receive ongoing support after completing treatment?
    Yes. Our continued care groups and case management services help individuals stay connected and supported in recovery.
  • Is transportation available?
    Transportation support may be available for qualifying individuals through Medicaid or partner programs. Please ask during your intake assessment.
  • What if I don’t have insurance?
    We work with uninsured individuals and may be able to help you access state or community funding for eligible services.
  • Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
    Yes, we accept Virginia Medicaid and many commercial insurance plans. Contact us to confirm your coverage.
  • What are your clinic hours?
    Most locations are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Clinics are closed on weekends.
  • What is your treatment philosophy?

  • What does ASAM 3.1 mean?
    ASAM 3.1 refers to a clinically managed, low-intensity residential service level defined by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. It provides structured support in a home-like environment with a focus on life skills and relapse prevention.
  • Who is eligible for treatment?
    We serve adults 18+ who are experiencing substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions. A clinical assessment helps determine the most appropriate level of care.
  • How long does the admissions process take?
    After submitting a referral, our team contacts the client within a few business days to schedule an assessment and determine service eligibility.
  • How do I make a referral to True North Clinic?

    Referrals may be made by schools, parents, teachers, or medical professionals.
  • Is insurance accepted?
